Flower District

Last Saturday I had time to kill before meeting friends for dinner in Little Tokyo.  I ventured to the flower district downtown LA.  The place was buzzing especially with mother’s day the next day.  The place was filled with wonderful colors and great fresh smells.  Here are my two favorite photos from my walk.

Bank Transfer Day – Los Angeles

Demonstrators rally their support for Bank Transfer Day [November 5, 2011] and the Occupy movement under the shadow of the Bank of America and Wells Fargo building in the financial district in downtown Los Angeles. On this particular day, the Occupy movement called on the 99% to transfer their money from big banks to credit unions.  Several hundred supporters listened to speakers, danced to drums and chanted. Following the speeches, the protestors marched north on Grand Avenue making their way to City Hall, a center of the Occupy LA movement.

Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Triathlon Presented by Herbalife – Biking Photos

The second segment of a triathlon is the biking course.  My judgement was to only capture the first and last 1000 feet of the bike course because the Los Angeles Triathlon is consider a point-to-point Triathlon.  Without the access of a motocycle its difficult to cover the whole course.

Within 2000 feet I was able to capture some spectacular photos.

Solidarity with Wisconsin

Over a 1,000 people came out on a sunny afternoon in downtown Los Angeles infront of city hall to show their support for Wisconsin union workers.  Wisconsin Republican Governor Scott Walker proposed a budget-repair bill limiting the collective bargaining public workers have at the negotiation table.  If the bill passes a it will set a tidal wave for other states to pass similar bills.
