Los Angeles Police Department Detective Gus Martinez (left), is congratulated after riding the Santa Monica Pier Ferris Wheel for 25 continuous hours by Guinness World Record for riding an amusement ride. The record breaking feat helped raise money for the the Special Olympics Southern California (SOSC).
A hand written chart notes the stoppage times of the ferris wheel. If the ferris wheel sits idle for four minutes or more the record attempt would be over. Martinez is granted 5 minutes breaks every 60 minutes.
