PETA Takes to Body Paint

PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) took to the streets of Hollywood to remind shoppers this holiday season not to purchase fur, leather, wool or exotic skins.  To help deliver their message, PETA brought out four body-painted beauties decorated as a tiger, cow, leopard and snake.  Each model held a sign saying, “Animal Prints Not Animal Skins.”

Pedestrians on Hollywood Blvd stopped to look and to snap photos, or, to pose with the colorful models.  For some drivers, Los Angeles traffic afforded them the opportunity for a longer look.  After 10 minutes of “protest”, police officers finally stepped in and made a phone call to see if the models had to be removed. Ultimately, they were allowed to stay and they went back to posing in front of the Hollywood and Highland Center.  PETA’s protest lasted for over an hour.

“Animal Prints Not Animal Skins” can be seen on a billboard criticizing Kim Kardashian for wearing fur above Beverly & Sweetzer in Los Angeles.

Rainy Running of the 26th LA Marathon March 2011

Today started grey with no rain and about when the masses hit mile 3 the sky opened up and it started to pour.  The rain never stopped and for the most part did not put a damper on the spirits of the runners or the family members coming out to root them on.
