Third times a charm at water polo! Santa Monica College played to a 11-7 victory over Rio Hondo College in women’s water polo at the Santa Monica Aquatics Center in Santa Monica, California on Tuesday, October 25, 2011.
My best and favorite images of water polo came from the game. Recalling experiences from my pervious games helped with producing more powerful photos.

Through the Glass
Category Uncategorized
The summer camp where I work received a large donation for a new basketball court surface and new hoops. The new hoops have glass backboards. Previously, they were aluminum. Upon seeing them, my first thought was to anchor a camera through the glass as pro photographers often do. Unfortunately, I have no anchoring equipment, so I stood on the top step of a 10 foot ladder shooting down on my willing dunkers. Six counselors dunked repeatedly for 20 minutes. Lucky for me, they were kind enough to avoid my ladder and did not knock me over.

Santa Monica Pier
Category Uncategorized
On January 6th I wrote about the great photogenic Santa Monica Pier. I went to the Pier on a late afternoon to photograph the sunset. After the sun went down, I got into a conversation with a gentleman about life, photography and the greatness of Southern California. About to head back to my car, I spotted a couple in full wedding attire. I stayed an extra 15 minutes and got this beautiful shot. You just never know what you will see when you visit the pier!
